Hey Bros!
Welcome to Twitter in Focus where media comes to die! Today’s contest is Rick, Morty and the Creator of Rick and Morty, Justin Roiland! His show is funny, let’s see what he’s tweeting.
March 4th: “Get ready for VR to take the blame for every lunatic starting in 2017!!”
Ving Raimes? Why would he do that?
March 5th: “Look who’s recording today! @ScottChernoff ”
Scott does a ton of voices.
March 6th: “youtu.be/wAS2qFXkNPs”
Okay. That’s a song.
March 6th: “Winner gets ALL 10 variants of issue 1 signed by @danharmon and @JustinRoiland and 1 cover with a drawing from Justin ”
Nice!
March 6th: “Catfish might want to find a new casting team. This new season is unwatchable. MTV should change their name to SJW”
Man, Justin uses a lot of initials. Um, So Just Wasting time?
March 6th: “Catfish is trying so hard to make an autistic dude with a foot fetish seem like a serial killer rapist.”
Jesus Christ! What happened to MTV?!
March 7th: “My next door neighbor is a reality TV star. I won’t say which, but it’s true.”
Is it one of the guys that ate bull testes on Fear Factor?
March 7th: “Get the hype engine revved up y’all http://youtu.be/5N5zw6YOe2k”
I rented that game once. It was okay.
March 7th: “How can you be sure you’re worth your weight in salt?”
You have to be made of beef jerky.
March 7th: “Pink and yellow or dark brown and purple?”
Dark brown and purple.
March 8th: “Can’t belie this song was written about Gary Coleman. http://youtu.be/mQZmCJUSC6g ”
It’s true. Gary was very full of himself. C’mon, he was on Buck Rogers.
March 9th: “Tonight is the big one! #GravityFalls big one! 9pm on Disney XD! The episode is called “Not What He Seems” WATCH IT!!”
Well, as long as I still have to wait for Rick and Morty.
6 hours ago: “So many suits at UTA. If everyone took off their suit this could be a suit store. #abedjokes”
Cool. Cool-cool-cool-cool.
Okay, let’s rate Justin’s tweets. Some behind-the-scenes, which I love. Minimum plugs. Weird links. Who could ask for more? I give Justin a 9 for Mustness, a 9 for Style and a 10 for Insanity. That’s an overall score of 9.3. Follow Justin and watch Rick and Morty.

Webcomic: Romantically Apocalyptic
Creator: Vitaly S. Alexius (and his team)
Format: Full color, painted comic book pages
Updates: Weekly
Genre: Science Fiction, Time Travel, Post Apocalyptic Future
Themes: Technology, madness, absurdity
Characters: Captain, Snippy, Pilot, Engie, various cyber monsters
Archive: Over 200 pages beginning here.
Full disclosure: I am a huge fan of R.A. and benefit greatly from Vitaly’s generous link exchange he did with me some time ago. But hey, it’s my birthday today, so I get to review what I want.
Romantically Apocalyptic is a comic that reminds me a lot of the epic gaming illustrations one might see in Gamma World or other post-apocalyptic RPG’s. The story is extremely loose, but has something to do with the end of the world and the strange survivors that roam the apocalyptic wastes.
I have to be honest and say, most times I tune in, I have no idea what’s going on. The Captain will say something silly and whimsy and Snippy will get attacked by a giant mollusk or something. The group of characters is often on a mission whose parameters are never quite known and various cyber creatures and mutant offspring alternatively help and/or try to stop them.
I think I like R.A. because it’s visuals are constantly hinting at what might have been or what might be, but never quite telling you what’s going on. The Captain or “Zee Captain” is constantly showing up in strange places or discovering strange items that somehow survived the apocalypse. The other characters end up being led around by this seemingly whimsical madman who is either saving humanity or just screwing around. You can never be sure which.
Like I said, I like this comic a lot and can’t get enough of the visuals. If you’re looking for something plot heavy, this is definitely not it, but if you’re looking for epic dystopian landscapes and strangeness, by all means tune in.
Previous Reviews

If your birthday is this week: Money will rain from the sky, but later you’ll have to return it since those bank robbers hid their loot in a nearby circus cannon.
Aries: You’ll make friends with an obese shut in, but find out later it was only so his supply of pancakes could continue uninterrupted.
Taurus: You’ll sudden realize that wild animals are just the homeless of the animal kingdom and vow never to give a wild animal change again.
Gemini: Your closet will become infested with armadillos.
Lemini: Trader Joe’s will pull your “Roadkill Jerky” from the shelves when it’s found to contain an inordinate amount of skunk parts.
Cancer: Halfway through a bag of beef jerky, you’ll realize you’ve been eating dog treats and that you’ll soon enjoy a thicker, shinier coat.
Leo: The stars say, the all you can eat sushi place is suspiciously close to the aquarium.
Virgo: You may have a drinking problem, since you measure your drinking amounts by the box.
Libra: You’ll karate chop a baby, but it will be deserved.
Scorpio: You’re overusing the word “Sploosh.”
Sagittarius: You’ll get drunk then drive around on a scooter in Target insisting every time you hit an aisle display that it “came outta nowhere!”
Capricorn: Picking out a sweater will be the highlight of your week, but hey, at least you don’t live in Iraq or the Ukraine.
Aquarius: You’ll discover that the muffled screams in your basement is just the wind and a bunch of people being tortured.
Pisces: Everything’s coming up you, so enjoy your birthday chicken parm and generous family gifts despite the fact those assholes at Daylight Savings time stole an a hour from your birthday!
