This is why I shouldn’t pick a place when I’m driving around hungry. I had already been to the Whole Hog Cafe in Cherry Hill and didn’t like it. Today, I ended up driving around to run some errands so I thought I’d grab a sandwich. I had remembered passing the place before, wanting to try and I didn’t realize it was part of a chain.
Well, I wish I had. Although I will say, the cafeteria-style ordering (which I’m not a real fan of) worked for this place because it was small. The service was good, but the pulled pork sandwich was a little dry. No getting around it. And later, I was burping it up for quite a while. The counter girl and cook tried, but I’m done. Although I will say I liked the cornbread and that’s a big part of it for me, ten bucks for a sandwich and cornbread is kind of steep not to be wowwed by the meat.
I give the Whole Hog Cafe 5 out of 10 keggers. I can’t go back. Sorry.
