Wes Anderson and his usual crew are back with a multi-layered and very entertaining flick.  GBH is one of those movies within a story within a movie within another story.  The Cast includes Ralph Fiennes in the lead role, F. Murray Abraham, Jude Law, Adrien Brody, Billy Murray, William DeFoe, Jeff Goldblum, Harvey Keitel and Edward Norton to name a few.  Anderson, with the help of Hugo Guinness and Stefan Zweig, create a world in which an aging, European, imperial power is the back drop of where the hotel is situated.

Ralph Fiennes plays M. Gustave, the ultimate concierge.  Wining and dining the elderly women that still patronize the Grand Budapest, things become complicated when one of his favorite lady dies and passes on a priceless painting to him in his will.  Adrien Brody and William DeFoe play great heavies, by the way.  Gustave’s sidekick is a lobby boy named Zero, who tells the story later in his life.

Unlike some of Anderson’s recent flicks, GBH moves quickly and has a fast, taught script filled with quirky characters and scenes.  It reminded of one of the world’s Terry Gilliam would create, only much more grounded in reality.  If you’re a fan of Anderson’s work, this is a must-see.  If not, this is definitely a movie that should be in the running to win something.

I give the Grand Budapest Hotel 9 keggers out of 10.  Don’t miss this one, bros.
