I had heard scary things about this movie and it didn’t disappoint. The Babadook centers around a single mom in Australia. Her young son is a handful and she can’t cope with the death of her husband even after seven years.

But then weird things start happening when a mysterious children’s book is discovered in her house. No explanation, no clever twist, it’s just there. And from therein, it’s pretty damned scary!

The most interesting thing about the movie is that it isn’t just a scarefest. There’s a lot of symbolism and character development involving the mother and the son. It is a little slow to get there, but trust me, it’s worth it.

Big thumbs up, bros! See this one alone, if you dare!
